The Downliner - Part 1

How to use The Downliner effectively Part 1

You've wanted a guide on effective promotion since you joined The Downliner. Well finally here it is...

Before we begin I want to say a few things. Let's start with my name Jay Carey. I am the owner, designer and programmer of The Downliner.

The site launched in a cooperative form in february last year (2016) and when it was revealed to the public, it was started from scratch. No list, no members, no sites and no community.

Here we are one year later and The Downliner has almost 6,000 members and 15,000 sites with over 24 million views. Not bad for 12 months but considering how many people are network marketing today its always open to expansion.

It was designed based on personal experience. I've been in network marketing for over 15 years now and when I started the information provided to earn an income was fairly straightforward, however, it was also extremely time-consuming.

For anyone who also started in this period you will be very familiar with the process. You may even despise the process as many do but you'll be glad to know that your lives are about to get much less complicated!

I used to spend 14 hours a day surfing exchanges, reading emails and doing tasks in order to generate enough credit so I could display my own advertising and let me tell you: this was much more than a full time job. The income however just did not justify the time I was spending and this was before conversion rates were anihilated with the introduction of gamification to exchanges!

Back then you could surf for a day and actually have signups, however, in 2017 don't be surprised if there are days when you have absolutely no results.

So what's different about The Downliner?

The main difference is that The Downliner is NOT like any conventional traffic exchange.

When you registered you probably expected to run through the same process where you add your sites, text ads and banners then surf in the site to gain credit and show your ads. You may even be surprised to find there is absolutely no internal surfing in the site and aside from the banners, everything you advertise is shown externally.

One major mistake I have noticed marketers make is joining an exchange then promoting that exchange in the exchange they just joined. It may not seem like a big thing but essentially you are wasting your credits because everyone viewing the exchange you are promoting are already a member of that exchange. How could you ever hope to get a signup in that site if everyone you are promoting to is already in it! Many marketers actually quit because after doing this for 2 weeks spending hours a day surfing with no results can really hit a marketers confidence but they didn't need to quit. They just needed a guide.

With The Downliner you can promote anything you want, even your Downliner referral link because those who view it are likely not members!

Another mistake many marketers make is using rotators. Now i'm not saying rotators are a bad thing but right now most marketers are using them incorrectly. Rotators were designed to cycle through a number of sites randomly but marketers use them to promote blind.

This means they basically join a number of income opportunities then stuff their rotators to cycle each one with no real testing being performed.

If you want to know if your site has the 'curiousity' factor then select a few pages from it and add them to a rotator. That way you are using your credits to show the same site but in different versions. This is especially useful if you are using multiple capture pages.

At the end of each chapter you will be given a simple task. If you want to continue then make sure you complete the task before the new chapter arrives.

There are no links in this chapter or even names because the last thing I want to do influence your decision on what Traffic Exchanges to use but there is one simple rule:

Don't go with the grain on this decision. If you find a manual exchange you enjoy using then make that one of your choices.
